A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN ORDER OF THE TOWN MANAGER PURSUANT TO
SECTION 9.04.130, AVON MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, Section 9.04.130(b), Avon Municipal Code, empowers the Town
Manager to issue order, rules and regulations limiting or preventing activities on property owned
by the Town, which shall be effective upon resolution of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Town Manager has issued the following order:
Dogs are not permitted to be on Town property in use as a public park in areas
where signs have been posted to that effect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the aforesaid order is approved and
shall be effective immediately.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Avon,
Colorado, the 13th day of June, 2006.

Regarding: Resolution approving Town Manager order
At the last meeting of the council, you directed us to place signs in the Wildridge parks
prohibiting dogs from the playground areas for reason of public health. After reviewing the
Municipal Code on this matter, we are of the opinion that such a regulation is best made
effective through the attached resolution.
Section 9.04.130(b) of the Avon Municipal Code provides the mechanism for such an order.
This resolution, will prohibit dogs from those areas of public parks that are posted to that
effect, and will authorize the general penalty provisions
