Wolfe, Mayor Attest: L ®R A F_aiy~M_i envy, T lerk Memo To: Honorable Mayor and Town Council Through: Larry Brooks, Town Manager From: Jacqueline Halburnt Date: November 17, 2005 Re: Amendment to Resolution 05-13 Summary: Town Council adopted Resolution No. 05-13, "A resolution establishing a historic preservation committee..." at its May 10, 2005 meeting. The resolution states that all five appointed members to the committee must be registered electors or property owners in Avon. Subsequently, the Town Council determined that a one-time exception would be made to allow Karen Nagel to serve on the committee even though she is not a registered elector or property owner in Avon. She owns property in Beaver Creek and has an extensive background in historical preservation. The attached resolution, 05-54, presents an amendment to 05-13 to allow Ms. Nagel to serve on the committee. Background: This amendment is considered a housekeeping item, but necessary for the permanent record. Discussion: The exception was allowed because five duly qualified people did not apply for the committee, only four. Also appointed were Jeannette Hix, Dominic Mauriello, I Halburnt and Kim Nottingham Nolan. Recommendation: We recommend approving resolution 05-54, a resolution amending resolution 05-13 to allow the appointment of Karen Nagel to the Historical Preservation Committee in the Town of Avon, Eagle County, Colorado as part of the consent agenda.
