No. 1990-130 RESOLUTION NO. 90-13 SERIES OF 1990 i A RESOLUTION STATING THE COMMITMENT OF MATCHING LOCAL FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SEPARATED RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING ON AVON ROAD WHEREAS, the Town Council has determined the current on-grade Avon Road/railroad crossing creates severe traffic congestion and is a major safety hazard to area residents and guests; and WHEREAS, preliminary engineering studies and cost estimates for construction of the separated grade crossing have been completed; and WHEREAS, the total estimated cost for construction of a separated grade crossing is $6,800,000.00; and WHEREAS, the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, Beaver Creek Metropolitan District and Eagle County have also determined the current on-grade crossing creates severe traffic congestion and is a major safety hazard to area residents and guests. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the following local funds are hereby committed for the construction of a separated grade crossing: Town of Avon $2,150,000.00 (includes anticipated $300,000.00 grant from the Colorado Division of Local Affairs; $390,000.00 from Eagle County in-kind services; $400,000.00 from Beaver Creek Metropolitan District) Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad $1,250,000.00 Total $3,400,000.00 0 0 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Avon hereby requests that the Colorado Department of Highways consider this commitment of local funds and provide the additional funding of $3,400,000.00 to complete construction of this separated grade crossing during 1991.
