TOWN'OF AVON HOUSING AUTHORITY

WHEREAS, more than twenty-five residents have
filed a petition with the town clerk pursuant to section
29-4-204, C.R.S., setting forth that there is a need for a
housing authority to function in the Town of Avon; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on Septem-
ber 12, 1989, at 7:30 P.M. at the council chambers in the
Avon Municipal Building for the purpose of determining
whether there is a lack of safe or sanitary dwelling accom-
modations in the Town of Avon for all the inhabitants
thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows:
1. The council does hereby find and determine
that there is a lack of safe or sanitary dwelling accommo-
dations-in'the Town of Avon for all the inhabitants thereof.-
2. A housing authority with boundaries co-
extensive with'the boundaries of the Town of Avon and with
the powers and duties provided in part 2 of article 4, title
29, Colorado Revised Statutes, as amended, is established.
3. The name of the housing authority shall be
Town of Avon Housing Authority.
4. The authority shall consist of five commis-
sioners appointed by the mayor, and he shall designate the
first chairman. Not more than one of such commissioners
shall be a city official. The commissioners shall be
designated by the mayor to serve for terms of one, two,
three, four and five years respectively from the date of
their appointment. Thereafter the term of office shall be
for five years.
5. The mayor shall file with the town clerk a
certificate of appointment of each commissioner, and such
certificate shall be conclusive evidence of the due and
proper appointment of such commissioner. A certificate
signed by such commissioners shall then be filed with the
Division of Local Government in the Department of Local
Affairs of the State of Colorado, setting forth that a
notice has been given and public hearing has been held, that
the council made a determination after such hearing and that
the mayor has appointed them as commissioners.
