RESOLUTION NO. 84-36
SERIES OF 1984
A RESOLUTION BY THE AVON TOWN COUNCIL SHOWING APPRECIATION TO
BALLOON SPONSORS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE 1984 BALLOONS,
BLUEGRASS, AND BARBEQUE EVENT.
WHEREAS, the first annual Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque
festival was held in Nottingham Park and the Avon area on August
18-19, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the first Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque festival
was successful largely due to the efforts and support received from
Intermountain Insurance, Arrowhead at Vail, Avon Center, Empire
Savings, Falcon Pointe Lodge, First Bank of Avon, Heritage Cable,
Hole in the Wall, James H. Moore & Associates, Peregrine Properties,
Shamburger & Associates Architects, Telephone Communications Corpora-
tion, Vail Associates Real Estate, Vail Magazine, Vail National Bank,
Western Sun Sports, and T. Charles Wilson Insurance; and
WHEREAS, top balloonists from the Vail Valley and across the
country participated in the event; and
WHEREAS, the first annual Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque
festival brought entertainment, activity, and a level of excitement
never before seen in the Vail Valley;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town wishes to thank
Intermountain Insurance, Arrowhead at Vail, Avon Center, Empire
Savings, Falcon Pointe Lodge, First Bank of Avon, Heritage Cable,
Hole in the Wall, James H. Moore & Assoc., Peregrine Properties,
Shamburger & Associates Architects, Telephone Communications Corpora-
tion, Vail Associates Real Estate, Vail Magazine, Vail National Bank,
Western Sun Sports, and T. Charles Wilson Insurance for their
generous contribution towards making the first annual Balloons,
Bluegrass, and Barbeque festival an overwhelming success.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
