A RESOLUTION BY THE AVON TOWN COUNCIL SHOWING APPRECIATION TO
MAJOR SPONSORS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE 1984 BALLOONS, BLUEGRASS,
A14D BARBEQUE EVENT.
WHEREAS, the first annual Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque
festival was held in Nottingham Park and the Avon area on August
18-19, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the first Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque festival
was successful largely due to the contributions made by Benchmark
Corpanies, Beaver Creek Properties, and KGMJ; and
WHEREAS, top balloonists from the Vail Valley and across the
country participated in the event; and
WHEREAS, the first annual Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque
festival brought entertainment, activity, and a level of excitement
never before seen in the Vail Valley;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town wishes to thank
Benchmark Companies, Beaver Creek Properties, and KGMJ for their
generous contributions as Major Sponsors for the first annual
Balloons, Bluegrass, and Barbeque festival.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
