SERIES OF 1984
A RESOLUTION BY THE AVON TOWN COUNCIL SHOWING APPRECIATION
TO INDIVIDUAL COMPETITORS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE.
1984 AVON TOWN CUP
WHEREAS, the first Avon Town Cup/North American
Trophy Series Race was held in Avon/Beaver Creek on
February 7-11, 1984, and;
WHEREAS, the first Avon Town Cup was completed
successfully, and professionally directed, by both the
sponsors and the competitors, and;
WHEREAS, top athletes from across the country and
around the world were invited to, and participated in, the
event, and;
WHEREAS, the event attracted local, regional, and
national interest and attention;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Town Council
of the Town of Avon, that the Town;
1) Recognizes the disipline, determination, and
skill required to qualify for and compete in the Avon Town
Cup.
2) Extends appreciation and best wishes in future
races to

competitive among the top racers in the world so that he/she
may return for the 1985 Avon Town Cup.
