SERIES OF 1984
A RESOLUTION BY THE AVON TOWN COUNCIL SHOWING APPRECIATION TO INDIVIDUALS AND
ORGANIZATIONS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTION TO THE FIRST ANNUAL MOUNTAIN MAN
WINTER TRIATHLON HELD AT AVON/BEAVER CREEK COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the inaugural run of the First Annual Winter Mountain
Man Triathlon was held on Saturday, February 4, 1984; and
WHEREAS, Eighteen Triathletes entered and competed in a
grueling 32 mile test of endurance, physical fitness, and courage; and
WHEREAS the event attracted local, regional, and national interest
and attention; and
WHEREAS, many contributions were made to the event in the form of
volunteer hours and monetary donations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town
of Avon that the Town officially recognizes and appreciates the contribution
of towards the professional organization and
execution of the event, and that the Town encourages similar future
contributions to the 1985 Mountain Man Winter Triathlon.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Avon on February 14, 1984.
