TOWN OF AVON
RESOLUTION NO. #84-2
SERIES OF 1984
BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of
Avon, Colorado, as follows:
1. John W. Dunn is hereby appointed, on an
independent contractor basis, as Town Attorney during the
calendar year 1984.
2. Arthur A. Abplanalp, Jr. is hereby appointed,
on an independent contractor basis, as assistant Town
Attorney during the calendar year 1984.
3. The Town Attorneys shall be compensated at a
rate of $75.00 per hour for performance of routine legal
services required by the Town. Such services shall include
but not necessarily be limited to the following:
a. attendance at meetings of the Town
Council and Town Commissions;
b. responding to requests for opinions of
the Town Councilmembers and staff;
C. preparation of agreements, ordinances and
legal correspondence;
d. review of documents presented to the
council for approval, including plats and
subdivision agreements;
e. appearances in the Town's municipal -
court; and
f. all other matters generally associated
with a general legal representation.
4. The Town Attorneys further shall be
compensated at a rate of $90 per hour for performance of
legal services not of a routine nature, effective January 1,
1984. Such services shall include but not necessarily,be
limited to the following:
a. matters in litigation including appeals
of decisions of the Town Council pursuant to Rule
106, Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure;
b. appearances before boards and commissions
of the'State of Colorado and United States of
America; and
c. handling of matters in connection with
issuance of bonds by the Town.
5. The Town Attorneys further shall be
compensated for all reasonable expenses incurred in
connection with their representation of the Town. Such
expenses shall include one-half the cost of travel,

accommodations and meals in connection with Dunn's
attendance at the mid-year meeting of the National Institute
of Municipal Law Officers.
6. This resolution shall not be considered to be
binding on the Town Council elected at the regular election
in May 1984, but shall continue in effect subsequent to such
election unless replealed or modified.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting the 10th day of
January, 1984.
