RESOLUTION NO.#83-28
SERIES OF 1983
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE LIFT BUS SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the Town of Vail has expressed a desire to no
longer be the agency to administer the grant for the Lift Bus
System; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Vail has asked that the Town of
Avon assume this responsibility; and
WHEREAS, the service area of the Lift Bus System is
much greater than the Town of Avon; and
WHEREAS, the Eagle County Board of Commissioners has
agreed to create a Transit Council made up of representatives of
the several municipalities and the more densely populated rural
areas involved with the Lift Bus Service; and
WHEREAS, the financial contribution from the County, the
several municipalities and the federal government will continue to
be paid to operate the Lift Bus System; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Avon acknowledges that for the present
in order to reactivate the Lift Bus Service the Town of Avon
has the capability of being the agency to administer the federal
grant; and
WHEREAS, Beaver Creek Transit has expressed a willingness
to be the agency to operate the Lift; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town of Avon agrees
that for the next year it will consent to be designated the agency
to operate the Lift Bus System.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the future this issue
will be reevaluated on a year to year basis by the Town of Avon as
well as the Transit Council.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mayor Allan R. Nottingham
is hereby authorized to enter into the necessary agreements on
behalf of the Town for the operation of the Lift Bus System.
