A RESOLUTION TO PROCLAIM APRIL 18-24, 1983 AS
COLORADO BUILDING SAFETY WEEK..
WHEREAS, the states and local jurisdictions of this nation.
have adopted legislation and do administer, when necessary, laws and
ordinances to protect the health, safety, welfare'and property of
the citizens, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Avon, County of Eagle a local
jurisdiction in the State of Colorado,,had adopted rules regulating
the construction of buildings in which people live, work and play and
WHEREAS, other concerned jurisdictions also have realized the
importance of builaing,safety, the proper application of-the building
code requirements and the importance-of developing uniform interpretation
and'the exchange of-information, and have formed the Colorado Chapter
of the International Conference of Building officials to assist in
the administrative problems of the various communities in_the State, and
WHEREAS, building safety is foremost-in the concerns of
these building officials, as well as the Town of Avon administration and
elected officials of the Town of Avon,
BE IT'THEREFORE RESOLVED,, THAT, the week of April 18-24, 1983, shall
be designated as Building Safety Week.
IT IS FURTHER URGED that all the citizens of this community will-become
acquainted with the building department; the personnel; it's various
processes and it's services during this week.
