TC Res. No. 1983-04RESOLUTION NO.#83-4 SERIES OF 1983 A Resolution by the Town Council supporting the continuation of General Revenue Sharing Funds. WHEREAS; the General Revenue Sharing Act expires as of the 4th Quarter payment for 1983, and; WHEREAS, the Town of Avon is a new municipality incorporated in August of 1978, and; WHEREAS, the Town of Avon was able to implement a recreational program as a result of General Revenue Sharing Funds, and; WHEREAS, the Town of Avon has used General Revenue Sharing Funds for recreational programs for the benefit of residents and visitors to the town, in both terms of physical health and enhancement of the use of leisure time, and; WHEREAS, the Town of Avon has projected the used of General Revenue Sharing Funds in the town's five year budget project to continue the.use of said funds for,recreational purposes, and; WHEREAS, the loss of General Revenue Sharing Funds could seriously jeopardize the town's recreational programs and loss of user funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED.BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF the_.Town:of Avon, Colorado, the Town of Avon Council urge all of Colorado's United States Senators and members of the House of Representatives to vote`favorable for the reenactment of the General Revenue Sharing Act at increased funding levels. • • ADOPTED this 8th day of February, 1983.
