ORDINANCE NO. 88-15
SERIES OF 1988
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15.24.020 OF THE
AVON MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW INSTALLATION OF
DECORATIVE GAS LOG SETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CERTAIN SAFETY STANDARDS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Town of Avon,
Colorado that:
Subsection 15.24.020 A. of the Avon Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
A. Section 502 (a) Add the following sentences:
No vented decorative appliance or decorative gas
log set shall be installed unless it complies with
applicable nationally recognized standards as
evidenced by the listing and label of an approved
agency. In addition, vented decorative appliances
and decorative gas log sets shall be equipped with
either an automatic ingnition or a fully automatic
pilot safety control which provides complete gas
supply shut-off.
INTRODUCED, PASSED ON FIRST READING, APPROVED AND ORDERED

and a Public Hearing on this Ordinance shall be held at the regular
of the Town Council of the Town of Avon, Colorado, on the 22xN!.
day of November, 1988, at 7:30 P.M. in the Municipal
Building of the Town of Avon, Colorado.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO, AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE:.'2.'ND DAY OF
NOVEMBER 1988, AT THE TOWN HALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING
THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 88-15, SERIES OF 1988:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15.24.020 OF THE AVON MUNICIPAL
CODE TO ALLOW INSTALLATION OF DECORATIVE GAS LOG SETS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CERTAIN SAFETY STANDARDS
A copy of said Ordinance is attached hereto, and is also on file
at the office of the Town Clerk, and may be inspected during
regular business hours.
Following this hearing the Council may consider final passage
of this Ordinance.
This notice is given and published by order of the Town Council
of the Town of Avon, Colorado.
