ORDINANCE NO. 86-23
SERIES OF 1986
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNED WITH AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE TOWN OF AVON AS IT RELATES TO FEES FOR KEEPING ANY DOG.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON:
Section 1.
Section 6.04.080, Subsection B, of the Municipal Code of
the Town of Avon shall be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
B. Not later than seven days after the impounding
of a dog, the owner, if known, shall be given notice by
United States Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested,
or if the owner of the dog is unknown or the dog is a
stray dog, notice shall be published once, or posted at
one or more conspicuous places in the town for three
days, describing the dog and the place and time of taking.
The dog owner of said dog so impounded may reclaim said
dog upon payment of the license fee, if unpaid, and of all
costs and charges incurred by the town for impounding and
maintenance of said dog. The following charges shall be
paid to the town for impounding any dog: for impounding,
thirty-five dollars; for keeping any dog, twelve dollars
per day; for giving notice, five dollars; and said charges
shall be in addition to any penalties imposed on the dog
owner pursuant to other provisions of this chapter.
Section 2. Severability.
If any part or parts hereof are for any reason held to be
invalid, such shall not affect the remaining portions of this
Ordinance.
INTRODUCED, PASSED ON FIRST READING, APPROVED AND ORDERED
POSTED this 11th day of November , 1986. A public hearing
on this Ordinance shall be held at the regular meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Avon, Colorado, on the 25th day of November
1986, at 7:30 p.m., in the Municipal Building of the Town of Avon,
Colorado.

COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO, AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE
25TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1986, AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 400
BENCHMARK ROAD, AVON, COLORADO FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING
THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 86-23:
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNED WITH AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE TOWN OF AVON AS IT RELATES TO FEES FOR KEEPING ANY DOG
A copy of said Ordinance is attached hereto and is also on file
at the office of the Town Clerk and may be inspected during
business hours.
Following this hearing, the Council may consider final passage
of the Ordinance.
