ORDINANCE NO.86-14
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE TOWN OF AVON AS IT RELATES TO THE
PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS TAY BY CHANGING THE
AMOUNT THEREOF AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON,
COLORADO:
Section 1. Amendment. Section 3.28.030 of
Chapter 3.28, Title 3 of the Municipal Code of the Town of
Avon is amended to read as follows:
"3.28.030 Imposition and rate of tax. On
and after May 15, 1986, there is levied , and
shall be paid and collected, an excise tax of 1.8
percent on the price paid for the leasing and
rental of any hotel room, condominium unit,
time-share unit or other accommodation located in
the town."
Section 2. Violations and Penalties. It is
unlawful for any person to violate any provision hereof.
Any person who violates any provision of the Ordinance shall
be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars
or by imprisonment for a period of not more than ninety days
or by both such fine and imprisonment; provided, no person
under the age of eighteen years shall be punished by
imprisonment. Any such person shall be guilty of a separate
offense for each and every day during any portion of which a
violation of any provision of this code is committed,
continued, or permitted by such person and shall be punished
accordingly.
INTRODUCED, PASSED ON FIRST READING, APPROVED AND
ORDERED POSTED, this 10th day of June , 1986, and a
public hearing on this Ordinance shall be held at the
regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Avon,
Colorado, on the 24th day of June 1986 at 7:30 P. M. in
the Municipal Building of the Town of Avon, Colorado.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE 24TH OF DAY OF
JUNE, 1986 AT THE TOWN HALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 86-14, SERIES OF 1986:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF AVON AS
IT RELATES TO THE PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS TAX BY CHANGING THE
AMOUNT THEREOF AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF
A copy of said ordinance is attached hereto and is also on file
at the office of the Town Clerk and may be inspected during regular
business hours.
Following this hearing, the Council may consider final passage of
this ordinance.
This notice given and published by order of the Town Council of
the Town of Avon.
