TC Ord. No. 1982-16i TOWN OF AVON ORDINANCE NO.#82-16 SERIES OF 1982 ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Avon, on the 8th day of December; 1981, adopted a budget for the Town of Avon incorporating line item appropriations for members of the Avon Town Council which established salaries different from-those previously provided by Section 2 of ordinance #1 of the Series of 1979, and WHEREAS, the Town Council is determined it necessary, to amend the Municipal Code of the.Town of Avon to provide that such Municipal Code is consistent with the salaries established by the action of the-Board in December, 1981. NOW,'THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of Avon, Section 1. That Section 2.02.020 of the Municipal Code of the Town of Avon be and hereby amended to read as follows: 2.04.0.20 Duties of the town clerk. A. The town clerk shall maintain a list of all official meetings held by the town council and shall record with reference to each meeting the names of all councilmembers who were in attendance at that meeting. . B. At the end of each calendar month, or as soon thereafter as practical, the town clerk shall determine the number of official meetings attended by each councilmember,and, based on this computation, the town clerk shall then prepare and issue, and cause to be prepared and issued checks drawn on the general fund of the town, which checks shall be made payable to the councilmember for services according to the following schedule: 1. For all members of the council elected prior to, the 1st day of May, 1982: a. Twenty-five dollars per.-member for each official meeting attended, not to exceed one hundred fifty dollars per month per member; and b. With respect to the mayor, thirty-five dollars for each official meeting attended, not.to exceed two hundred ten dollars per month. 2. For all members of the council elected subsequent to the 1st day of may, 1982: a. Two hundred dollars per month per member; and b.,.With respect to the mayor, a total of five-hundred dollars per month. C. The town clerk shall, upon order of the council, and pursuant to Section 4.8 of the town Charter; also prepare and, issue,.and cause to be prepared and issued, checks drawn on the general fund of the town to councilmembers, upon their.'request, as reimbursement for their necessary and actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as councilmembers.
