HELD DECEMBER 18, 2001
A special meeting of the Town of Avon, Colorado was held in the Municipal Building,
400 Benchmark Road, Avon, Colorado in the Council Chambers.
Mayor Judy Yoder called the meeting to order at 3:20 PM. A roll call was taken with
Councilors Michael Brown, Debbie Buckley, Peter Buckley, Rick Cuny, Mac McDevitt,
and Mayor Prot em Buz Reynolds present. Also present were Town Manager Bill Efting,
Assistant Town Manager Larry Brooks, and Town Clerk Kris Nash.
New Business:
Part-time Town Attorney Interviews:
The Town Council interviewed three firms for consideration to enter into a contract with
for the position of part-time Town Attorney. The candidates were John Dunn of Dunn &
Abplanalp, PC, Allen C. Christensen, Attorney at Law, PC, and Seth Murphy of Timothy
H. Berry, PC.
After interviewing each candidate and discussion amongst the Council, Mayor Protem
Reynolds motioned to enter into an agreement with John Dunn of Dunn & Abplanalp, PC
at a fee not to exceed $75,000 per year. Councilor Debbie Buckley seconded the motion.
The motion carried with Councilor Peter Buckley voting nay.
Town Manager Report:
Town Manager Efting stated that he will be leaving town on Saturday, December 22 and
returning on Wednesday, December 26.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilor Brown motioned
to adjourn the meeting. Councilor Cuny seconded the motion. The motion carried
unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 4:45 pm.
