TC Minutes 10-12-1999E MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL HELD OCTOBER 12, 1999 A regular meeting of the Town of Avon, Colorado was held in the Municipal Building, 400 Benchmark Road, Avon, Colorado in the Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Judy Yoder at 6:51 PM. A roll call was taken with Councilors Jim Benson, Debbie Buckley, Rick Cuny, Mac McDevitt, Buz Reynolds, and Mayor Protem Bob McIlveen present. Also present were Town Manager Bill Efting, Town Attorney Burt Levin, Assistant Town Manager Larry Brooks, Town Clerk Kris Nash, Police Chief Jeff Layman, Public Works Superintendent Bob Reed, Recreation Director Meryl Jacobs, Director of Community Development Mike Matzko, Transportation Director Harry Taylor as well as members of the press and public. Citizen Input: The Haunting/Blood Drive Update Recreation Director Meryl Jacobs updated the Council on the Haunting, which will take place at the Avon Recreation Center on October 23, 1999 from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM. The Haunting will feature the haunted house, a room for those who don't want to be quite as frightened, and then a teen dance in the dance studio. The cost of the event is $2.00 per person, which will be donated to the Eagle Valley Children's Chorale. Also, a blood drive will be held in the Council Chambers in conjunction with Vail Valley Medical Center from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM the same day. Ordinances: First Reading of Ordinance No. 99-20, Series of 1999, An Ordinance Amending the Chapel Square PUD to Allow 69 Parking Spaces to be Reserved for the Exclusive Use of the Residential Unit Owners, Lots B1, B2, 22 and 22A, Chapel Square Subdivision, Town of Avon, Eagle County, Colorado, Located East of Beaver Creek Place Councilor Cuny asked if a parking reduction was granted to the applicant based on there not being reserved spaces. Community Development Director Matzko stated it was not. Mayor Yoder stated she has difficulty with this ordinance because we have not allowed it to other projects. Mayor Yoder stated she does not support the ordinance. Other Councilmembers concurred with Mayor Yoder. • Mr. Terry Palmos, applicant, stated he would like to get some information together and present it to the Council properly. He stated he would like the opportunity to present the facts. Councilor Cuny motioned to table Ordinance No. 99-20, Series of 1999, for further consideration. Councilor Reynolds seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. Town Manager Report: Town Manager Efting reminded the Council of the budget retreat on Thursday, October 14, 1999 at Cordillera. Consent Agenda: a.) Approval of the September 28, 1999 Council Meeting Minutes b.) Fireworks Contract for New Year's Eve c.) Financial Matters Councilor Reynolds motioned to approve the Consent Agenda. Mayor Protem McIlveen seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilor Benson motioned to adjourn the meeting.. Councilor McDevitt seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 7j.00 PM.
