MINUTES OF 714E SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
HELD JUNE 27, 1996 - 3:45 P.M.
A special meeting of the Avon Town Council of the Town of Avon,
Colorado was held in the Municipal Building, 400 Benchmark Road,
Avon, Colorado, in the Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by mayor Albert J. Reynolds at
3:52 PM. A roll call was taken with Councilors Jim Benson,
Richard Carnes, Jack; Fawcett, Tom Hines, and Judy Yoder present.
Councilor Celeste C. Nottingham was absent. Also present were
Town Manager Bill James, Town Clerk Patty Lambert, Town Attorney
John Dunn, Acting Police Chief Chris Peck, Director of Finance
Scott Wright, Finance Officer Valerie McCoy, Director of
Community Services Larry Brooks, Town Engineer Norm Wood, Fire
Chief Charlie Moore, Director of Recreation Meryl Jacobs, and
Community Development Director Mike Matzko, as well as members of
the press and public.
Resolutions:
Resolution No. 96-27, Series of 1996, A RESOLUTION RELATING TO A
PERSONNEL MATTER (Resignation of William D. James as Town
Manager)
Councilor Yoder motioned to adopt Resolution No. 96-27, Series of
1996. Councilor Fawcett seconded the motion and the motion
carried with Councilor Hines opposed.
Other Business:
Councilor Fawcett'mbtioned that Larry Brooks be appointed acting
Town Manager and that the Mayor and Town clerk be authorized to
sign appropriate banking resolutions authorizing Finance Director
Scott Wright to sign checks on behalf of the.town. Councilor
Hines seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously.
Other Business:
Attorney Dunn circulated a press release and advised the Town
Clerk to provide copies of the press release to any person(s) who
inquire as to this matter and emphasized that there will be no
other comments by anyone - this being a personnel matter.

There being no further business to come before Council, Mayor
Reynolds called for a motion to adjourn. Councilor Fawcett moved
to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Councilor Yoder. The
meeting was adjourned by Mayor Reynolds at 3:55 PM.
