MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL AVON TOWN COUNCIL MEETING HELD
AUGUST 5, 1986 - 5:00 P.M.
A special meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Avon, Colorado
was held in the Municipal Building, 400 Benchmark Road, Avon,
Colorado, in the Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Nottingham at 5:26 p.m. A
roll call :was taken with Steve Miller, Sheila Davis and Al Connell
present. Councilmen Watkins and Buick were absent. Also present
were Town Manager Bill James, Attorney Art Abplanalp, and consultant
Arnie Ray of Ross Consulting.
The Mayor stated that the Town Manager had requested an executive
session to discuss the proposed shopping center negotiations.
There being no objections to the request, the Council retired into
executive session at 5:28 p.m. The Council reconvened at 6:25 p.m.
Councilman Connell moved that the contract of June 24, 1986, between
the Town of Avon and the shopping center developer, be terminated,
and that the deposit of the $75,000 be returned to the developer
until a new schedule of performance could be re-negotiated. The
motion was unanimously carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Councilman Miller moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Connell. The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Nottingham
at 6:27'p.m.
