MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE AVON TOWN COUNCILMEMBERS
HELD MARCH 30, 1982 - 7:30 P.M.
The special meeting of the Town Councilmembers of the Town of Avon, Colorado was held
in the Municipal Building in the Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Alpi at 7:55 p.m. All the Councilmembers
were present as well as the Town Attorney John Dunn and members of the press and
public.
The purpose of the special meeting was to publicly announce the selection of the new
Town Manager for the Town of Avon. The Mayor stated that there were approximately 35
applications.
The man the Council chosen was Richard Blodgett from the Town of Winter Park, Colorado.
The Mayor stated he has been Town Administrator in Winter Park about 4 years, prior
to that was from Bloomington, Illinois and was City Manager there from 1970-1975, thasn
worked in Billings, Montana for about a year.
It was stated that he would work for the Town for $37,500.00 and would be on the job
March 31, 1982.
Larry Kumpost moved approval to appoint Mr. Richard D. Blodgett as Town Manager for the
Town of Avon. The motion was seconded by Sheila Davis and was unanimously carried.
There being no further business Steve Erickson moved to adjourn. Sheila Davis seconded
the motion. The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Alpi at 8:00 p.m.
