MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
HELD DECEMBER 4, 1979 - 7:30 P.M.
The Special Meeting of the Town Councilmembers of the Town of Avon, Colorado
was held in the Town Offices, second floor, Benchmark Shopping Center, Avon,
Colorado.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Angelo Alpi at 7:40 p.m. Present
were all the Councilmembers, Town Attorney, John Blish, Ken Sortland, Chief of
Police, Alice Alpi, Design Review Board Member, John Gutman, KVMT radio as
well as members of the press and public.
The Mayor opened the meeting with his "State of the Town" address and presented
to the Council the 1980 budget, the only order of business.
There was a correction on page 26 for the electrical inspections. It should.read,
$7,500 for the '79 budget, plan checker should be $5,000 for the '79~pro.jection,
and $8,400, the Mayor's recommendation. The total would change to $56,000.
The Town financial planner suggested the Town pass a Resolution appropriating
money for additional expenses at the end of the year. Steve Erickson moved
approval of Resolution No.#25 as it reads presently. -'Carol Richards seconded the
motion. A roll call was taken with all Councilmembers voting yes.
Carol Richards moved approval of the 1980 budget as it was discussed with
the correction of the $8,400 in the Building Department, seconded by Dick
Casserley. A roll call was taken with all Councilmembers voting yes.
The Town Attorney complimented the Mayor for the job he had done on the budget.
The Town now has a 1980 budget as of December 4, 1979
There being no further business Dick Casserley moved that the Council ajourn,
Steve Erickson seconded the motion and the Mayor adjourned the meeting at
9:10 P.M.
After adjournment the Council went into a work session.
