MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE TOWN COUNCILMEMBERS
OF THE TOWN OF AVON
HELD FEBRUARY 20, 1979
7:30 p.m.
A special meeting of the Town Councilmembers of the Town of Avon,
Colorado was held in the Town office, second floor, Benchmark Shop-
ping Center, Avon, Colorado.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Angelo Alpi.
Councilmembers in attendance were Richard Allen, Angelo Alpi, Steve
Erickson, Carol Richards, and A.J.Wells. Also in attendance were:
John Blish, Town Attorney; Ron Allred, the Benchmark Companies; and
LeRoy Tobbler, KKBNA.
Jim Wells moved that the Council dispense with the reading of the min-
utes. Seconded by Rich Allen and unanimously carried.
Ron Allred of the Benchmark Companies and LeRoy Tobbler, Civil En-
gineer with KKBNA then presented the Town with the preliminary plan for
the subdivision of Sections 35 and 36 which are owned by the Benchmark
Companies and are 1361.79 acres in size. The land is located approximately
one mile north of the Town of Avon and Interstate 70. It is currently
an unincorporated area within Eagle County but annexation to the Town is
proposed. The development will involve six phases of residential housing,
the first phases to be located in Section 35. The presentation was sup-
plemented by a booklet "Preliminary Plan Report, Subdivision and Land Use"
and an eleven page set of maps "Preliminary Plan Maps". Each Councilmem-
ber received booklet and set of maps and a booklet and set of maps are
on file with the Town. The Council expressed great interest in the pre-
liminary plan, however no action was taken.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
adjourned at 9:30 p.m..
