MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL
MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCILMEMBERS
OF THE TOWN OF AVON
HELD NOVEMBER 15, 1978
7:30 p.m.
A special meeting of the Town Councilmembers of the Town of Avon,
Colorado was held in the Town Office, second floor, Benchmark Shop-
ping Center, Avon, Colorado.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Angelo Alpi at 7:30 p.m..
Councilmembers in attendance were Joyce Allred, Angelo Alpi, William
Doyle, Steven Erickson, Allan Nottingham. Richard Allen and Carol
Richards were absent. Also present was Ron Allred of the Benchmark
Architectural Control Committee.
Upon motion made, seconded, and duly carried, the reading of the
minutes of the meeting held November 14th was waived.
The Council discussed the proposed Design Review Board ordinance
which the Council had passed on first reading at the Special Meeting
of November 8th, 1978. Steve Erickson, of the Council Design Review
Board Subcommittee, and Ron Allred, of the Benchmark Architectural
Control Committee, stated that the proposed ordinance did not accur-
ately reflect the ideas and changes discussed during the work sessions
that the Council Subcommittee and the Benchmark Architectural Control
Committee had held.
The Council agreed that an advisory committee be chosen from the De-
sign Review Board applicants to assist the Town Attorney and Council
Subcommittee in drafting a revised ordinance. A list of the applicants
together with copies of their letters of application were distributed
to the Councilmembers. Each Councilmember expressed preferences as
to the members of said committee. Mayor Alpi then directed the Coun-
cil to vote on the membership of said committee. The members so elected
were; Ron Allred, Chairman, Richard Casserley, Cynthia Jordan, Alice
Knipe, Tom Landauer, Hugh Price, Ken Richards, and John Wheeler.
The Chairman then called the first meeting to be held in the Town Of-
fice for November 17, at 3:00 p.m..
Ron Allred then asked the Council to consider the naming of the park
and lake. Following some discussion, the Council agreed to consider
the matter further at the next Council meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
adjourned at 9:30 p.m..
