TC Agenda 11-02-2004PUBLIC NOTICE OF REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD AS PART OF THE COORDINATED ELECTION TOWN OF AVON EAGLE COUNTY, COLORADO TO BE HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2004 PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Laws and the Town Charter of the Town of Avon (the "Town"), in the County of Eagle and State of Colorado, the Regular Municipal Election will be held in the Town on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. The election will be conducted as part of the coordinated election to be conducted by the County Clerk and Recorder of Eagle County. The election will be held in the lawful polling place for each precinct designated by the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder. Avon precincts 15 and 19 polling place is at the Avon Municipal Building, 400 Benchmark Road, Avon, Colorado. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the day of the election. An early voting poll will also be open from October 18, 2004 through October 29, 2004 at the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder's Office, 500 Broadway, Eagle, Colorado between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You must be a registered voter of Avon in order to qualify to vote in the coordinated election. The designated election official for the Town is Patty McKenny, Town Clerk of the Town of Avon, Box 975, 400 Benchmark Road, Avon, Colorado 81620, telephone (970) 748-4035. The coordinated election official is Teak Simonton, Eagle County Clerk and Recorder, Box 537, 500 Broadway, Eagle, Colorado 81631, telephone (970) 328-8710. No votes will be received by the judges of the election unless the person offering to vote is registered to vote pursuant to the "Uniform Election Code of 1992" and has resided in the jurisdiction of the Town not less than thirty days immediately preceding the election. Absentee ballots may be obtained by contacting the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder's office at 970- 328-8728. The last day to request an absentee ballot must be received by the Eagle County Clerk's office no later than October 26, 2004. An absentee ballot may be cast by returning it to the coordinated election official in Eagle, Colorado at 500 Broadway or by mail at PO Box 537, Eagle, CO 81631-0537. Absentee ballots must be in the office of the coordinated election official not later than 7:00 p.m. on the Election Day, November 2, 2004. Emergency absentee voting shall be permitted as provided in the Uniform Election Code of 1992.
