Preston,
Thank you for sharing. As licensed drone operators we welcome legislation that
provides guidance and clarity for the emerging UAS industry. We agree that it is
imperative to reinforce, rather than attempt to restrict, current FAA regulations.
We endorse Ordinance 18-04, with one small suggestion for improvement:
1) In 8.40.050, would it be possible to allow for verbal permission from a real
property owner? Requiring written permission seems a bit cumbersome given the
mobile/spontaneous nature of UAS operation. I imagine one could prove
compliance by simply using their smart phone to record verbal permission.
