Subject: Colorado World Resorts
Dear Council,
I would like to reiterate my significant concerns regarding the development proposed by Colorado World
Resorts. This structure is too massive, both in height and length for this important location and this
challenging topography. A development of this magnitude, in such a fragile environment, would severely
impair the smart planning and development of Avon that the town has worked so hard to achieve since 2004.
It seems like this application is being rushed through the approval process without the critical vetting that
is required for a development of this impact. This reminds me of the old days in Avon, when the terms of
significant developments were hammered out by a few town officials, then rushed through the public process
without an appropriate amount of time for the public and referral agencies to weigh in. Th,e Town is spending
a lot of time and resources gathering and regathering public input on the development of Town owned
properties. Please spend a similar amount of time and resources vetting this application for a
development which will have at least as big an impact on our town.
