L62 63 B2 BMBC MSP ModPlanning & Zoning Commission
Staff Report
Submitted for the July 18, 1995 meeting
Date July 13, 1995
Review Type Master Sign Plan Modification
Project Type Sign Plan
Location Lot42 and43, Block, Benchmark Subdivision
Introduction
The applicants are requesting two changes to their master sign plan:
1. Delete the current master sign plan requirement that all signs be illuminated.
2. Change the letters of the signage from a gold to a black.
Staff Comments
Staff supports the request to no longer require that all signs be illuminated. The black lettering
will be as attractive as the gold and not detract from the building. Staff does not anticipate there
to be a conflict between the existing signs which are gold and illuminated and the proposed black
signs. Staff believes the elimination of the requirement for illuminated signs to be an improvement
in making the signage on this commercial building more compatible with the surrounding area
since fewer signs would be illuminated.
Recommended Procedure
1. Introduce Application
2. Applicant Presentation
3. Commission Review
4. Commission Action
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of the sign plan amendments.
