The sign area is 24 square feet. Design Review Considerations According to the Town of Avon's Sign Code, Section 15.28.070 Design Review Criteria, the Planning & Zoning Commission shall consider the following items in reviewing proposed designs: 1. The suitability of the improvement, including materials with which the sign is to be constructed and the site upon it is to be located. The sign is for the temporary garden sales and is suitable as a temporary sign. 2. The nature of adjacent and neighboring improvements. The sign is compatible with the commercial development in the vicinity, including the Pizza Hut and C -Mart. 3. The quality of the materials to be utilized in any proposed improvement. The sign is appropriate as a temporary sign. 4. The visual impact of any proposed improvement, as viewed from any adjacent or neighboring property. The sign has a green background with white letters and is compatible with the adjacent commercial area. 5. The objective that no improvement will be so similar or dissimilar to other signs in the vicinity that values, monetary or aesthetic, will be impaired. Not applicable. 6. Whether the type, height, size, and/or quality of signs generally complies with the sign code, and are appropriate for the project. The seven foot sign is within the eight foot maximum height. It is 24 square feet and complies with the maximum 40 square foot size limit. It is set back 15 feet from the property line and therefore is in compliance with the 10 foot setback. Whether the sign is primarily oriented to vehicular or pedestrian traffic, and whether the sign is appropriate for the determined orientation The sign is a vehicular oriented sign which is appropriate for the commercial neighborhood.
