LA Minutes 01-27-2009TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO MINUTES OF THE LOCAL LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MEETING HELD JANUARY 27, 2009 The Avon Town Council acting as the Local Liquor Licensing Authority for the Town of Avon, Colorado convened at 5 PM at the Avon Municipal Building, One Lake Street, Avon, Colorado. A roll call was taken and Board members of the Authority present were Ron Wolfe as Chairperson, and Board members Rich Carroll, Dave Dantas, Kristi Ferraro, Amy Phillips, Buz Reynolds, and Brian Sipes. PUBLIC HEARING ON NEW LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION a. Applicant: 7 -Eleven, Inc. d/b/a 7 -Eleven 34209 Address: 008 Nottingham Road, Avon, CO Manager: Joseph De Pinto Type of License: Retail 3.2% Off -Premises Beer License Alan Dill, attorney with Dill Dill Carr Stonbraker & Hutchings, PC and representing the applicant, presented the 7 -Eleven Retail 3.2% Beer Off Premises license application and the witnesses with a brief interview of each one as follows: ■ Kelly Pietrs, Esquire Petitioning Services, LLC, spoke about the petitioning process and summary report. Board member Sipes spoke about his concern that there were no signatures gathered representing the residents around the lake. ■ David Paquette, District Manager, spoke about his time with the company and his region of management. He noted that William Briggs has relocated to be the store manager (he was present as well), how employees are trained and monitored with regard to the sale of the beer. Mayor Wolfe opened the public hearing for 7 -Eleven; no comments were made, the hearing was closed. Board member Sipes suggested that the establishment have good communication and relations with the police department. Board member Ferraro moved to approve the Retail 3.2% Beer (Off Premises) License for 7 -Eleven, Inc. d/b/a 7 -Eleven 34209; Board member Phillips seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Board member Sipes asked that the findings include that the beer sales is secondary to the primary service station services of the establishment and that the approval of the license allows for a more level playing field with the establishment across the street. RENEWAL OF LIQUOR LICENSE a. Applicant: Bob's Place LLC d/b/a Bob's Place Address: 100 W. Beaver Creek Blvd. Manager: Robert Doyle Type of License: Hotel and Restaurant Liquor License Bob Doyle, owner, was present to comment on the state of the restaurant business. Board member Sipes moved to approve the Hotel and Restaurant Liquor License Bob's Place LLC d/b/a Bob's Place; Board member Phillips seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. CONSENT AGENDA Board member Dantas moved to approve the consent agenda; Board member Sipes seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. a.
