A RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING THE PLANNING & ZONING
COMMISSION'S POSITION RELATED TO AFFORDABLE
("ATTAINABLE") HOUSING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, TOWN
OF AVON, COUNTY OF EAGLE, AND SETTING FORTH DETAILS IN
REGARD THERETO

WHEREAS, the 2006 Town of Avon Comprehensive Plan ("the Plan") Housing Topic Area (F)
contains three goals: "Achieve a diverse range of quality housing options to serve diverse
segments of the population; Provide a workforce housing program that incorporates both rental
and ownership opportunities for residents that are attractive, safe and integrated with the
community; Participate in countywide housing policies and procedures" and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of Avon is putting forth this
Resolution to summarize and memorialize their position on affordable housing as follows: Avon
should endeavor to work collaboratively with local, state, and federal governmental agencies to
acquire suitable parcels of land within and close to the Town of Avon municipal boundary,
whenever possible, or otherwise located within the Eagle River Valley, to be used for affordable,
or "attainable", housing developments using all tools at the Town's disposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town
of Avon has formalized their position on implanting affordable ("attainable") housing policies via
this Resolution signed on February 7, 2008.
