No. 04-25TOWN OF AVON PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 04-25 6 A RESOLUTION RATIFYING EXISTING AND PROPOSED PUBLIC ART LOCATIONS (INCLUDING STATUARY) WITHIN THE TOWN OF AVON AND SETTING FORTH REVIEW AND DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR ALL FUTURE ART INSTALLATIONS WHEREAS, there is consensus between Town Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission that public art (including statuary) in Avon is desired and beneficial to the Town and requires review and collaboration between the Town and the Avon Arts Council; and WHEREAS, the existing public art located at Roundabout 2 should be formally acknowledged by the Town as an appropriate location; and WHEREAS, potential future public art located at the Mountain Star Drive Roundabout shall be formally acknowledged by the Town as an appropriate location; and WHEREAS, the Town should authorize the Avon Arts Council to rotate artwork as it deems appropriate and notify the Town of its intent to do so prior to installation, while allowing the Planning and Zoning Commission to review and approve how the public art (including statuary) is installed, which includes the"appearance of pedestals, landscaping and lighting; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning and Zoning Commission hereby recommends to the Town Council that the areas noted on photos labeled "Exhibit A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, are recognized and ratified as Areas of Public Art (including statuary) that shall be so permitted to continue to maintain and rotate public art as complies with the terms outlined in this resolution.
