SERIES OF 2012
A RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF AMY PHILLIPS
WHEREAS, Amy Phillips subscribed to the oath of office for the Avon Town Council having
been elected to serve as a member from 2004 until 2012; and
WHEREAS, Amy Phillips has abided by her oath and served the Town through her many hours
attending work session, regular meetings, town functions, and special events over a period of eight
years; and
WHEREAS, her service has been exemplary in thoughtfulness, thoroughness, vision, energy
and value; and
WHEREAS, Amy's tireless pursuit of excellence has significantly raised the bar for Avon's
performance and transparency in government; and
WHEREAS, her involvement in the development of the 2006 Master Plan, the Main Street
Development Plan, the East Town Center Plan, the Transportation Master Plan, and the Nottingham
Park Master Plan have resulted in an ambitious and clear vision of a more vibrant and community
oriented Avon; and
WHEREAS, Amy's involvement on various boards including the Eagle County Transit and Trails
Board and the Channel 5 Board as well as serving as a liaison for the North West Colorado Council of
Governments, the Vail Valley Foundation, Beaver Creek, the Vail Valley Partnership and the Eagle Air
Alliance represented the best interests of the citizens of Avon; and
WHEREAS, Amy selflessly served the public in an elected position and worked diligently to
improve the mission of the Town Council and the vision of the community, and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON, AS
FOLLOWS:
The sincere thanks of the Town Council, the residents, and the Staff of the Town of Avon are
extended to Amy Phillips for her efforts to make Avon
community where a diversity of people can live, work ag
