AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15.04.830 AND SECTION 15.20.010
OF THE AVON MUNICIPAL CODE AND PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF
THE PUBLIC SAFETY; REGULATING FEES AND THE INSTALLATION, ALTERATION,
REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS AND
THE INSPECTION THEREOF IN THE TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PROVIDING A PLUMBING CODE CONSISTENT WITH AND GENERALLY
CONFORMING TO SIMILAR REGULATIONS THROUGHOUT THE TOWN; DEFINING
CERTAIN TERMS; ESTABLISHING MINIMUM REGULATIONS; ADOPTING BY
REFERENCE THE 1985 EDITION OF THE "UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE"; AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON,
as follows:
Section 1. Amendment. Other Inspection and Fees
Schedule of Table No. 3-D - Plumbing Permit Fees of Section 15.04.830
of Chapter 15.04, Title 15 of the Avon Municipal Code is amended
to read as follows:
Other Inspections and Fees:
1. Inspection outside of normal business hours
(minimum charge - two hours) $30.00 per hour
2. Reinspection fee assessed under provisions of
Section 15.04.570 30.00 each
3. Inspection for which no fee is specifically
indicated (minimum charge - one half hour..... .30.00 per hour
4. Additional plan review required by changes,
additions or revisions to approved plans
(minimum charge - one half hour) 30.00 per hour
Section 2. Amendment. Section 15.20.010 of Chapter
15.20, Title 15 of the Avon Municipal Code is amended to read
as follows:
15.20.010. Adoption. Pursuant to Section 6.9 of the
Charter of the Town of Avon, there is hereby adopted by reference
the "Uniform Plumbing Code" of the International Association of
Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, 5032 Alhambra Avenue, Los
Angeles, California, 90032-3490, 1985 Edition. Three (3) copies
of each of the CoCes are now filed in the office of the Clerk of
the Town of Avon, Colorado, and may be inspected during regular

business hours. The above Code is being adopted as if set out at
length save and except the following:
A. Part One. "Administration".
. Section 3. Amendment. Sections 15.20.030 through
15.20.160 of Chapter 15.20, Title 15 of the Avon Municipal Code
are amended as follows:
15.20.030. Section Repealed.
15.20.040. Section 803(e) added - Copper water Tubes.
Section 803(e) is amended by the addition of:
All concealed joints for copper water tubing within a
building shall be soldered or brazed. Joints installed under-
ground shall be flared or brazed.
15.20.050. Section Repealed.
15.20.060. Section Repealed.
15.20.070. Section 401(a)(2) Amended - Drainage Systems.
Section 401(a)(2) is amended to read as follows:
(2) ABS and PVC DWV piping installations shall be
limited to above ground within residential buildings up to and
including 2 stories requiring piping of 4 inches or less.
15.20.080. Section Repealed.
15.20.090. Section 503(a)(2) Amended. Section 503(a)(2)
is amended to read as follows:
(2) ABS AND PVC DWV piping installations shall be
limited to above-ground-with._.r.esidential buildings up to and
including 2 stories requiring piping of 4 inches or less.
15.20.100. Section Repealed.
15.20.110. Section Repealed.
15.20.120. Section Repealed.
15.20.130. Section Repealed.
15.20.140. Section 1004 Added (f). Section 1004 is
amended by adding'a new section (f):
(f) Copper tube when used underground shall be not less
than Type K.

Section 1005 Added (g) and (h). Section 1005
is amended by adding new sections (g) and (h):
(g) Required. A main shut off valve on the water service
pipe shall be provided by the curb.
(h) Required. A pressure reducing valve on all
individual domestic service lines shall be internally spring-
loaded with bronze body, stainless steel spring, neoprene diaphram,
integral stainless steel strainer, and adjusting screw with
locknut. The single-seated tight-closing valve shall be capable
of reducing a maximum inlet pressure of 250 psi to a maximum
outlet pressure of 25-125 psi, depending upon the pressure
requirements of each installation.
Pressure reducing valves shall be manufactured by
Mueller Company, Watts Regulator or an approved equivalent.
15.20.160. Section Repealed.
Section 4. Violation and Penalties.
a. Violations.
The following clause concerning
violations is hereby set forth in full and adopted with reference
to all of the Codes and Standards named in the title of this
Ordinance:
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation
to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove,
convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or
structure in the Town of Avon or cause or permit the same to be
done, contrary to or in violation of any of the provisions of any
of the Codes or Standards named in the title of this Ordinance.
b. Penalties.
Any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of any of the Codes or Standards named in the
title of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and any such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty
of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof
during which any violation of any of the provisions of any of the
Codes or Standards named in the title of this Ordinance is committed,
continued or permitted,and upon conviction of any such violation,

such person, firm, or corporation shall be punished by a fine of
not more than $500.00 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 5. Saving Clause. If any part,.section,
subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance or any
of the Codes or Standards adopted hereby are for any reason held
to be invalid, such decisions shall not affect the validity of
the remaining sections of this Ordinance or any of the Codes
or Standards named in the title hereto in each part, section,
subsection, sentence, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of
the fact that any one or more parts, sections, subsections,
sentences, clauses or phrases be declared to be invalid.
INTRODUCED, PASSED ON FIRST READING, APPROVED AND
ORDERED POSTED, this 11th day of February 1986
and a public hearing on this Ordinance shall be held at the
regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Avon, Colorado,
on the 25th
day of February , 1986 at 7:30 p.m. in the
Municipal Building of the Town of Avon, Colorado.

THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 86-7 , SERIES OF 1986:

AND PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY; REGULATING FEES AND
