ORDINANCE NO. 85-21
SERIES OF 1985
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CERTIFICATION AND COLLECTION
OF CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH WEED ABATEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Avon has been
informed that the Town has been required to expend funds for weed
control abatement in accordance with the provisions of Chapter
8.24 of the Avon Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the owners of the properties affected by such
abatement proceedings have been notified of such proceedings and
the charges associated therewith, but have failed and refused to
make the required payments associated with such abatement and
collection efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Avon is authorized by the provi-
sions of Section 31-15-401(d) and 31-20-105 of the Colorado Re-
vised Statutes to certify such amounts to the County Treasurer
for the collection thereof in association with real property taxes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO, that the Town Clerk of the Town of Avon be
and hereby is authorized and directed to certify to the County
Treasurer of the County of Eagle, the following amounts as charges
due associated with weed abatement activities, together with interest
from the date of this ordinance at the rate of eighteen percent (18%)
per annum and a ten percent (100) penalty for the cost of collection,
as permitted by law:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the Town Clerk of the Town
of Avon shall be
and is hereby authorized to take all necessary action permitted by
law necessary for the collection of the amounts aforementioned pur-
suant to Colorado Revised Statutes 31-15-401 and 31-20-105.

held at the regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of

in the Municipal Offices of the Town of Avon

PATRICIA DOYLE, Town Clerk of the Town of Avon,
County of Eagle, State of Colorado, hereby certifies that
there is presently owed to the Town of Avon as a result of
weed abatement activities provided and established by
Ordinance codified in the Avon Municipal Code, the amount of

Colorado bearing Eagle County Parcel No. The Town of
Avon hereby certifies such facts and requests that such
amount be assessed against and levied upon such property as
directed by C.R.S. 31-15-401(d) and 31-20-105, together with
interest at the rate of eighteen percent (18%) from
, 1985, and a ten percent (10%) penalty for
cost of collection to be collected in the same manner as
other taxes are authorized to be collected under Title 31,
C.R.S.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO, AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE 12TH DAY OF
NOVEMBER, 1985, AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 400 BENCHMARK ROAD,
AVON, COLORADO FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE ADOPTION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 85-21, SERIES OF 1985:
AUTHORIZATION OF CERTIFICATION AND COLLECTION OF CHARGES ASSOCIATED
WITH WEED ABATEMENT
A copy of said ordinance is attached hereto and is also on file
at the office of the Town Clerk and may be inpsected during
regular business hours.
Following this hearing, the Council may consider final passage
of the ordinance.
