ORDINANCE NO. 11
SERIES OF 1980
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1, SERIES OF 1980, TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL CATEGORIES OF CONTRACTORS PURSUANT TO SECTION 303(f),
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, AND ESTABLISHING FEES IN RELATION THERETO;
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON,
COLORADO:
Section 1. Repeal And Reenactment of Section 303(f),
Uniform Building Code, Being Section 1, Ordinance No. 1, Series of 1980.
Section 303(f) is hereby repealed in its entirety and re-
enacted as follows:
(4) Section 303(f). Contractor Licensing Fees, Insurance
and Bonds. All Contractors shall procure a license for conducting
work within the Town of Avon.
Established Fees are as follows:

carports, pipe and ducts,
scaffold erectors, tile and marble.

Licenses issued pursuant to this section shall be valid for
a period of exactly one year from the date of issue.
Certificates of Insurance for Statutory Workmen's Compen-
sation, and Public Liability of $100,000/person, $300,000/accident
and $50,000 property damage must be provided before a Contractor's
Permit is issued. A $2,000 bond or a bond in the amount of 2% of

the estimated cost of the construction, whichever is greater, shall
be provided, to guarantee substantial compliance in accordance with
the Uniform Building Code. Said bond will also cover the deposit
fees as listed in (3) above.
Section 2. Penalties.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance or of any-of the Codes or Standards named
in the title of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a violation
of this Ordinance, and any such person, firm or corporation shall be
deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion
thereof during which any violation is committed, continued or per-
mitted, and upon conviction of any such violation, such person, firm
or corporation shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300.00
or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine
and imprisonment.
Section 3. Saving Clause.
If any part, section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this Ordinance or any of the Codes or Standards adopted hereby
are for any reason held to be invalid, such decisions shall not affect
the validity of the remaining sections of this Ordinance or any of
the Codes or Standards adopted hereby; the Town Council hereby decalres
that it would have passed this Ordinance and adopted the Codes and
Standards named in the title hereto in each part, section, subsection,
sentence, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any
one or more parts, sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases
be declared to be invalid.

INTRODUCED, PASSED ON FIRST READING, APPROVED, AND ORDERED PUB-
LISHED ONCE IN FULL, this ~-day of , 1980
and a public hearing on this Ordinance shall be held at the reg-
ular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Avon, Colorado,
on the day of 1980, at 7:30 P.M. in the
Municipal Offices of the Town.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN OF A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO, AT 7:30 P.M. ON THE 27th DAY OF
MAY, 1980 AT THE TOWN HALL FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE
ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE N0.#80-11, SERIES OF 1980:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1,SERIES OF 1980, TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL CATEGORIES OF CONTRACTORS PURSUANT TO SECTION 303(f),
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, AND ESTABLISHING FEES IN RELATION THERETO;
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
A copy of said ordinance is attached hereto and is also on file
at the office of the Town Clerk and may be inspected during regular
business hours.
Following this hearing, the Council may consider final passage of
this Ordinance.
