MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
HELD FEBRUARY 10, 1998 - 5:30 P.M.
A regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Avon,
Colorado was held in the Municipal Building, 400 Benchmark Road,
Avon, Colorado, in the Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fawcett at 5:34 PM. A
roll call was taken with Councilors Jim Benson, Richard Carnes,
Bob McIlveen, Buz Reynolds, Sr., Buz Reynolds, Jr., and Mayor
Protem Judy Yoder present. Also present were Town Manager Bill
Efting, Assistant Town Manager Larry Brooks, Town Clerk Patty
Lambert, Deputy Town Clerk Melanie Dyck, Town Attorney John Dunn,
Fire Chief Charlie Moore, Town Engineer Norm Wood, Police Chief
Gary Thomas, Finance Director Scott Wright, Director of Community
Development Mike Matzko, Administrative Assistant Jacquie
Halburnt, Director of Recreation Meryl Jacobs, and Special Events
Coordinator Dana Maurer, as well as members of the press and
public.
Citizen Input:
Update on the Avon Sweetheart 5K Run
Special Events Coordinator Dana Maurer reviewed the First Annual
Avon Sweetheart 5K Run / Walk. The event is scheduled on
Valentine's Day, Saturday, February 14, 1998 in Nottingham Park
at 10:00AM.
Ordinances:
Second Reading of Ordinance No. 98-3, Series of 1998, AN
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE AVON MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ZONING,
PUBLIC NUISANCES, SIGNS, AND ANIMAL CONTROL, TOWN OF AVON, EAGLE
COUNTY, COLORADO
Mayor Fawcett announced this is a public hearing.
Director of Community Development Mike Matzko reviewed the
Ordinance. There were no changes to the Ordinance from first
reading.
Mayor Fawcett asked for public input. Hearing no one, Mayor
Fawcett asked Council for comments.
Councilor Reynolds, Sr. motioned to approve, on second reading,
Ordinance No. 98-3, Series of 1998. Mayor Protem Yoder seconded
the motion.
Mayor Fawcett called for a roll call vote.
The motion carried unanimously.
Town Manager Bill Efting reminded that the Municipal Building
will be closed on Monday, February 16th for President's Day.

Mayor Fawcett announced that Town Clerk Patty,Lambert, who has
been with the Town for seven and a half years, has resigned her
position, effective February 20th. She is going to tackle a new
job with Alpine Bank. Mayor Fawcett noted that Town Clerk
Lambert will be sorely missed, as she has been a wonderful
addition to the Town. Mayor Fawcett added there is great respect
for her and wished her the best of luck in the future. Mayor
Fawcett thanked Town Clerk Lambert for her time spent with the
Town. Council expressed appreciation, of Town Clerk Lambert,
with applause.

Mayor Protem Yoder motioned'to approve the consent agenda with
the addition of item k, the intergovernmental agreement.
Councilor Benson seconded the motion and the motion carried
unanimously.
There being no further business to come before Council, Mayor
Fawcett called for a motion to adjourn.- -Councilor Reynolds, Sr.
moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Councilor Benson.
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor Fawcett at 5:44 PM.
