National Night Out with the Avon Police Department
On August 7, 2007, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., the Avon Police Department will
sponsor National Night Out events at The Aspens Community Park and ® I
O'Neil Spur Park in Wildridge. The Avon Police are encouraging Avon
residents to turn on their outside lights, lock their doors, bring their lawn
chairs and come join the party!
National Night Out is in its 24th year and provides an opportunity for citizens
and law enforcement personnel to increase crime and drug prevention
awareness, generate support for anti-crime programs, and strengthen

neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. COLORADO via=
This event is great for the whole family and will include:
• Inflatable jumper for kids
• Music - The Ride will perform in O'Neil Spur Park and Antonio the Angel will DJ at Aspens Community Park
• Free food, beverages, and ice cream
• Raffle with over $3,400 worth of prizes including a new pair of K2 skis.
• Eagle County crime Stoppers
• McGruff the Dog
• Emergency Services - ambulance, fire truck, and police
"National Night Out is a great way to generate rapport between the police and citizens and is a big in a lot of cities
around the country," said Avon Police Chief Brian Kozak. "This is our first year holding a National Night Out in Avon,
but we're excited by the support the community has expressed for the event, both in donations and in volunteering to
help out. We expect a good turn out for both events."
