of works was not executed under the Construction Contract. See Exhibit A.

Basin 4 Sediment Mitigation Amendment
Dear Ms. Mosby,
This letter presents Verdantas’ proposal for amendment to engineering services during the final
stages of construction of the Basin 4 Sediment Mitigation Project. This proposal is to provide
additional design services to Task 5: Request for Information and Design Modifications of the
April 2024 SOW for Engineering Services during Construction.
Background
Verdantas has provided engineering services during construction (ESDC) and has been asked to
redesign the access road on the east side of the channel. The following are the proposed tasks
to address the redesign of the access road, and to provide support for additional grading
changes and/or site visits.

Scope of Work
The main tasks included within this Scope of Work are:
•Requests for Information (RFIs) and Design Modifications
The following sections describe the specific tasks that will be performed as an amendment to
the ESDC of the Basin 4 Sediment Mitigation project. Verdantas level of effort presented for the
construction of this project.
Task 5 - Requests for Information (RFIs) and Design Modifications
Due to the unique nature of the design and site and the unknowns for the project, additional
engineering required to address design of the access road requires a budget $7,500.
Additional design tasks include:
•Research of allowable cross slopes of various road types,
•Research typical slope of the road along the Holy Cross powerlines access roads,
•Graded test slopes to optimize and presented to Town engineering staff,
•Coordination with Flexamat representative for procedure to reuse Flexamat ,
•Discussions with Geotech engineer regarding the cut adjacent to trees and whether
stability analysis of the Keystone blocks,
•Turning analysis for a truck at the bend north of the fence line
•2 ft berm grading along north side of private property.
Deliverable: Conceptual grading plan.
Assumptions
The work will be conducted in accordance with the following general assumptions:
•All construction submittals, RFIs, and responses will be electronic (in PDF format).
•Construction will be from April through June 2024. Project closeout will be completed
by the end of October 2024.
•Invoices will be sent monthly.
•Verdantas will bill at current year rates.
Schedule
The project schedule will be directly related to the Contractor’s construction schedule.
Construction is anticipated from April 2024 through September 2024. Project closeout will be
completed by the end of October 2024. A detailed construction schedule will be available after
the Contractor is selected.

Cost Estimate
Our estimated cost for performing engineering services is summarized in the table below. The
work will be completed on a time and materials basis in accordance with contract terms that
are consistent with recent projects that Verdantas has performed for the Town of Avon.
