DEVELOPMENT SIGN
LOT 5, BLOCK 1, BENCHMARK SUBDIVISION

Staff has reviewed the request of Larry Kumpost, representing Vail
ab Associates, for approval of the design and location of a development
sign. The sign will be used to advertise the Wildwood Development to
be located on Lots 5, 52A, and 529, Block 1, Benchmark Subdivision.
The sign will consist of various width rough -sawn cedar boards which
will frame s beige colored sign painted on marine plywood. Letters
will be a tan color. The sign will be located on either the east or
west side of the proposed intersection of Swift Gulch Road and
Nottingham Road. The sign contains 29 square feet of sign surface.
Section 15.28.040.H.1. of the Avon Code restricts the sign surface
area to no more than 16 square feet.
Approval of this sign design and location is recommended subject to the
following conditions:
1. That the sign surface area be proporationally reduced down
to 16 square feet.
2. That prior to the actual installation of the sign, the final
site be approved by the Town Engineer to assure that site
distances are not obstructed.

Staff has reviewed the request of Marty Jones, representing Planters
of Vail, that he be allowed to sell Christmas trees on a parcel of
ground located in the northeast corner of Lot 55, Block 2, Benchmark
Subdivision. This use will be terminated and removed by December 26,
1983.

Playground Design Approval
Lot 56, Block 2, Benchmark Subdivision
Staff has reviewed the request of Dennis Cole, representing Eiodamar
Partnership, for approval of playground and surrounding fence located
at the west corner of Lot 56. This playground will be used in
conjunction with the day care center in Avon Center.
The fence surrounding the playground will be a 2 rail split -rail fence
like that used along the Avon Road right -o,° -way.
