Benchmark Plaza Sign Program
T,ot 20, Block 2, Benchmark Subdivision
Staff has reviewed the request of Larry Kumpost representing Wildridge 20, Inc.,
for approval of a comprehensive sign program for Benchmark Plaza. The program
consists of three (3) types of signs:
(1) A Directional sign at the southwest entry,
(2) Individual Business signs for the ground floor only, and
(3) Building Identification sign combined with an individual business sign.
The Directional sign will contain 4 names and be 10 square feet in size. The
Individual Business sign will contain no more than 20 square feet of signage
and be restricted to the ground floor and to businesses that have a separate
exterior entrance. The combination sign will contain 9.72 square feet for the
building identification portion and 12 square feet for the business identification
sign. This sign will be single faced. The combination sign is to be located at
the northwest lot corner with a future optional sign to be located at the northeast
lot corner.
The sign program as submitted generally complies with the Town of Avon Sign Code
and is recommended for approval subject to the following conditions:
(1) The Comprehensive Sign Standards - Sign Criteria A5 states "The use of
temporary signs shall be allowed for a period not to exceed 60 days."
There are no restrictions on type, location or size stated. This
.statement should be deleted and any use of temporary signs not complying
with all other requirements of the Sign Standards should be required to
have DRB approval.
(2) The reference to Ordinance #81-1 in the paragraph titled Sign Installation,
Maintenance and Removal, page 3, should be changed to Chapter 15.28
Town of Avon Municipal Code.
