OFFICIAL PROCLAMATION
TOWN OF AVON, COLORADO
A PROCLAMATION HONORING COUNCILOR MATT GENNETT
FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, Matt Gennett served honorably for four years on the Avon Town Council from 2014
to 2018, and provided exemplary governance, guidance and direction on the Town's vision and public
work; and
WHEREAS, Matt brought a proven and applied understanding of local government policy
development, the need for thorough, comprehensive and analytical information for good decision-
making; and, a commitment to performance assessment to fully measure the efficiency and effectiveness
of Town resource allocation; and
WHEREAS, Matt has applied his professional community development and planning expertise to
special projects such as the update to the Town of Avon Comprehensive Plan in 2017, which resulted in
necessary amendments in order to respond to changed conditions in the Town of Avon; and
WHEREAS, Matt has served as a strong leader in the development and implementation of the
Town of Avon's annual strategic plan, an effective policy document and a primary tool in implementing
the Comprehensive Plan, other adopted plans and special projects of the Town Council; and
WHEREAS, over the last four years, Matt has served as the Town of Avon's primary representative
on the Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee, a standing committee that develops the League's
legislative program; and
WHEREAS, through Matt's remarkable resolve and resiliency the Town of Avon has been well led,
with Matt tirelessly serving its citizens, guests and business owners.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AVON,
COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
By virtue of Councilor Matt Gennett's community involvement, leadership and dedication we, the Avon
Town Council, proclaim December 11, 2018, as "MATT GENNETT DAY", in the Town of Avon, Colorado,
and urge all Avon citizens to congratulate and thank Matt Gennett for his public service.
