Introduction
This application is for two signs advertising the Alpine Bank branch to be located inside City
Market. The first sign is a wall sign on the exterior of the building. The second sign is an
interior window sign that will be visible from the exterior of the building.
Design Review Considerations
According to the Town of Avon's Sign Code, Section 15.28.070 Design Review Criteria, the
Planning & Zoning Commission shall consider the following items in reviewing proposed
designs:
The suitability of the improvement, including materials with which the sign is to be constructed
and the site upon it is to be located.
The exterior wall sign is a minor change in the "copy" of the sign from Alpine Access to
Alpine Bank. The sign will be very similiar to the existing sign and is suitable for the site.
The nature of adjacent and neighboring improvements.
The minor modification will not have a negative impact on neighboring property.
The quality of the materials to be utilized in any proposed improvement.
The materials match the existing sign. The wall sign will utilize individual acrylic letters
which is encouraged by the Sign Code.
The visual impact of any proposed improvement, as viewed from any adjacent or neighboring
property.
The signs are less than 16 square feet in size (each) and conform to the existing signage on
site. The signs will not have a negative impact on adjacent property or row.
The objective that no improvement will be so similar or dissimilar to other signs in the vicinity
that values, monetary or aesthetic, will be impaired.

Whether the type, height, size, and/or quality of signs generally complies with the sign code,
and are appropriate for the project.
The signs are less than 16 in area and conform to the sign code. The code allows one square
foot of sign for every linear foot of building. The building is 342 feet long. The total signage
is approximately 228 square feet.
Whether the sign is primarily oriented to vehicular or pedestrian traffic, and whether the sign
is appropriate for the determined orientation
The signs are oriented toward vehicular traffic which is appropriate for the SC(Shopping
Center) District.
