The applicants for Lot 10, Block 4, Wildridge Subdivision are requesting a modification to the
roof color and material. The Planning and Zoning Commission conditionally approved a gray
metal roof. The approval was conditioned upon P&Z making a visit to the site to determine the
suitability of the metal roof.
The applicants are now requesting a gray asphalt roof instead of the metal roof. The roofing
material proposed is the Celotex presidential shake roof in the Weathered Wood Color.
Staff Recommendation
The modified roof material is more appropriate for the site. It has been the Planning and Zoning
Commission's general policy that metal roofing material has the potential to cause off-site glare.
The asphalt roof is a standard roofing material that is used in the subdivision and will be more
compatible with neighboring properties than the metal roof. Staff recommends approval of the
modification.
