Re: Lots 41-43, Block 2, Benchmark at Beaver Creek Subdivision - Beaver Creek West
Condominium's Residential Project Entry Sign
On March 18, 1997, the Planning & Zoning Commission tabled the Sign Design review of two
Residential Project Entry Signs for the Beaver Creek West Condominiums (please see attached
staff report dated March 14, 1997). The Commission took this action to allow staff to investigate
whether the Commission could regulate an 18 foot flag pole displaying the American flag, as an
integrated component of the proposed primary entrance sign. After consulting with the Town
Attorney, it was determined that limiting the proposed main entry sign's height to eight feet, as
stipulated by the Town's Sign Code, would not be an infringement of the Beaver Creek West
Condominium Association's constitutional rights (please see attached memo from the Town
Attorney dated March 28, 1997).
Staff Recommendation
Approve the proposed Residential Project Entry Signs as recommended in the staff report dated
March 14, 1997.
