L7 B4 WR Landscape Mod (2)Memorandum
Date: March 28, 1997
To: Planning and Zoning Commission
From: Karen Griffith, Town Planner
Re: Lot 7, Block 4, Landscape Modification
The final design for the VulpeNandervelde Duplex was approved in July of 1995 with the
condition that trees be substituted for the bushes. The applicant has submitted a revised
landscape plan. The original plan included five cottonwood trees, one pine tree, and eight rocky
mountain junipers.
The revised plan proposes:
1 ten foot Pinyon
4 six foot Pinyons
3 four foot Pinyons
2 six foot Rocky Mountain Junipers
2 four foot Rocky Mountain Junipers
4 five gallon Rocky Mountain Junipers.
Sixteen plants are now proposed instead of fourteen. In order to be consistent with the original
Planning and Zoning Commission conditions and meet Town standards for trees, all of the
required plants should be a minimum of 6 feet tall.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees be provided. Five deciduous
trees, with a minimum 2 inch caliper should be substituted for the evergreen trees. This is
consistent with the original landscape plan and provides a mix of trees. All required evergreens
shall be a minimum planting height of 6 feet tall.
