Final design modification for a fence
Lot 72, Block 1, Wildridge Subdivision
PUD
This is an application to install a split rail fence next to a residential driveway. The owners would
like the fence to make the driveway more visible in bad weather.
Design Review Considerations
According to the Commission's Procedures, Rules & Regulations, Section 6. 10, the Commission
shall consider the following items in reviewing the design of this project:
1. Conformance with the Zoning Code and other applicable regulations of the Town.
The split rail fence is located within property boundaries, and is in conformance with the
Town regulations.
2. The suitability of the improvement, including type and quality of materials of which it is to be
constructed and the site upon which it is to be located.
Although the design regulations discourage fences, split rail fences are listed as the most
appropriate fence material for Wildridge.
3. The compatibility of the design to minimize site impacts to adjacent properties.
The split rail fence is compatible with adjacent properties.
4. The compatibility of the proposed improvements with site topography.
The fence is proposed because of the steep drop-off on one side of the driveway. The split rail
fence is compatible with the driveway.
5. The visual appearance of any proposed improvement as viewed from adjacent and neighboring
properties and public ways.
The split rail fence is in character with other fences in the neighborhood, and by its design
minimizes visual impacts..
6. The objective that no improvement be so similar or dissimilar to others in the vicinity that values,
monetary or aesthetic will be impaired.
Not applicable
7. The general conformance of the proposed improvements with the adopted Goals, Policies and
Programs for the Town of Avon.
